This is proof positive of how long the X-Decks are built to last. Before switching to working off of the X-Decks they would work off of commercial grade step ladders. These step ladders only lasted an average of 3-5 months. As of today, the X-Decks have paid for themselves over 27 times over.

SafeTec recently attended the Louisville Mid America Truck Show in Kentucky. Although attendance was down dramatically over last year the response from fleet owners, maintenance shop foreman, and others directly responsible with fleet maintenance and safety was positive.

Everyone at the show is always amazed at the safety of the X-Deck safety work platform. The most amazing thing is not that you can walk to the end of the work platform and it will not tip or budge, but the fact that with no one on the portable X-deck you can do pull ups on the handrail and it will not tip over.

The 6-Step 18″ was by far the product of choice at the Louisville Truck show. That model puts a worker eye level with the top of an 18-wheeler. This allows for improved productivity and safety with trailer maintenance.

The most promising development from the trade show is the proposed development of a 5-Step lightweight for companies like Carrier and Thermo King for refrigeration work platforms. The proposed 5 Step will be half the weight while only reducing the capacity strength by 25%. This will make a light duty 5 Step ideal for single person aerial jobs.

REFRIGERATION UNIT INSPECTION

The X-DECK’s stability allows the user to utilize the full length of the deck without ever worrying about tipping the platform over. The allows for an almost 200 percent lateral increase in work productivity over that of a conventional ladder.

TRUCK MAINTENANCE

Maintenance becomes more efficient and productive when using the X-DECK. Multiple technicians can use the deck at one time allowing for faster completion of tasks. The X-DECK provides the user with the characteristics of a scaffolding operation (i.e. large work space and multiple employees using it simultaneously) with the ease and speed of set-up of a ladder. Therefore the user is getting the best of both worlds that out lasts its competitors many times over.

SERVICING

Servicing becomes a breeze when using the X-DECK. The optional handrails, wheel kits and work trays make the platform highly mobile and very efficient.
